Tips for using a walking ring Compiled by Janien Louw, occupational therapist

  • Ensure that Baby’s feet are flat on the ground – he should not hang in the walking ring, but rather be able to push himself up with his feet to stand up straight.
  • Your baby should first master the building blocks of rolling, sitting and crawling before you place him/her into the walking ring.
  • Use the walking ring only for short periods of time, not exceeding 15 minutes.
  • Safety first – make sure that the environment in which the walking ring is used, is safe and does not have challenges which may cause your little one to fall and get hurt.
